Kabinet wil €1,3 miljard investeren in grootschalige CO₂ opslag onder de Noordzee

Het kabinet wil de komende jaren €1,3 miljard investeren in het Aramis project. Met dit project moet afgevangen CO₂ van industriële bedrijven via de Maasvlakte naar lege gasvelden onder de Noordzee worden vervoerd. Daar wordt de CO₂ permanent opgeslagen, op ongeveer drie tot vier kilometer onder de zeebodem. De investering laat zien dat het kabinet grootschalige CO₂ opslag ziet als een belangrijk onderdeel van het Nederlandse klimaatbeleid.
